Katzelkraft's got beautiful postal stamps..

I LOVE this travel set from Katzelkraft...
I'm going to be using these stamps a lot, especially the text ones...
I LOVE texts.....
and the postage ones are also gorgeous!

(It looks a bit yellowish here, in real life it's more greenish!)

Apart from this being my DT post for Katzelkraft (also on the Katzelkraft blog today!), I am entering this card in the Stampman challenges also, with theme a technique you've not used before.
I used a technique I wanted to try for some time now, and I am sure I will be using it a lot in future. It's FUN! It's about using plastic foil over wet inks to get a very unique background. On this background it shows more with the blues than with the green. It might be because I did not use a glossy cardstock, too absorbant maybe...

and... I am also entering it as DT piece in the Fashionable Stamping Challenges, for the new challenge which will be posted tomorrow, the theme is..... no, I am not going to tell you... it's a secret until tomorrow. Come join us!

HOW TO:
Spray the background with two colors (home-made) pearl spays, and immediataly cover it with plastic foil. Leave it to air dry; this is the hard part LOL
Stamp the eiffel tower with a solvent ink. Stamp the text with Versamark and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Stamp the other stamps, also with a dark brwn solvent ink.
Distress the edges with a paper distresser, and sponge it with a dark brown dye ink.
Tear the edge in some places and accentuate it with a darkbrown marker.
(As you can see here, I used the stamp with the postage stamp and address in two stages, by inking it twice, leaving the top or bottom part without ink.)

Go stamp - ENJOY!

  8. There is so much to love about this...firstly, the stamps themselves...just gorgeous! The colours are beautiful together, and I like the white embossing over the stamping ~ a really nice effect Ellie. I have no idea what plastic foil is though (we only have aluminium foil and plastic wrap - for covering food)...but the effect is fantastic. From my family to yours we wish you a very merry xmas and a great New Year.

  11. Mooie kaart Ellie, dat groen/blauw is ook mooi.Ik neem aan dat je de plascticfolie een beetje "rommelig" op je kaart legt, zodat de plooien het effect gaan geven?
