I've been playing...

...and made a whole set of cards with the same stamps, same technique, other colors.

I did the coloring of the stamp with watercolorcrayons. It always surprises me how beautiful it turns out. I doodled the flowers, to get them defined, and the heart of course. To get the background this way, just mask the heart, and stamp over it.

Panpastel plus decoupage....

Using Pan Pastel plus decoupage gives gorgeous results.
The benefit to me of the Pan Pastels is the subtle colors you get. You can also use more than one color for a single stamp, using versamark of course. AND, of course you can also layer the colors, eg. terra plus green gives a beautiful dark brown.

I made this for the Pan Pastel BNL blog - it is a dutch blog, but you might just discover some new ideas with Pan Pastel there.

A step by step: / Een stap voor stap:

Stamp the script with versamark. Color it with coordinating colors from the picture from the paper napkin that's going to be on the card.  Fixate the Pan Pastel.

Adhere the paper napkin to the background with decoupage glue.
(Of course you have to use only the top layer from the napkin!)

Stamp the script with versamark over the picture and use white .....

......or coloured Pan Pastel.
......of gekleurde Pan Pastel aan.

To get some structure in the background put some gesso onto it; I used a custom made stamp here, a recycled piece. When nearly dry, sponge some PP color over it.

12 Tags of 2013 - November

I did not make a tag this time around, but did use Tim's November techniques to start off with, and then gave it my own twist! I used pearl-ex powder instead of chalks.

I am in love..

...with these subtle colors on the card, and with this stamp!
I stamped it with coloring the stamp with watercolorpencils.

Heat embossing with white embossing powder in the background.
It's a one layer card, the heart was not cut out, but masked to be able to do the background stamping.

New challenge at TIOT!

White on white is the challenge!
This theme one was a real challenge to me!
ONLY white!?
Who can come up with such a difficult challenge theme?
NO color!!
I did use some 'old paper' distress ink, to give some depth. It looks greenish on
the photo, but in real life it's the color of old paper!

Snow? It'll come!

I’ve got a step-by-step for you today! I stamped the image, and made a mask to cover the snowman before stamping and sponging.

Stamp the tree twice with gesso. Leave to dry.

Use some torn masking paper to be able to sponge over to get hills and clouds. I sponged with Distress ink faded jeans and stormy sky.

Take the mask off, clean the trees from inks, paint some gesso over the bottom of the snowman. Splat some waterdrops onto the inks, to get ‘snow’.

Draw some snow on the branches of the tree.

Color the scarf, hat and nose, some black at the bottom of the branches to get some shade. Stamp the birds. Adhere to your card.

The stamps are all from Katzelkraft!

LOVE this one...

I really LOVE this one, the Magenta Wasp stamp is one of my favourites.
There is some glossy accents on its wings.
The background is (part of) a monoprint.

Another monoprint.... with a color explosion!

The new theme at TIOT is color explosion.
I just LOVE the yellow/orange colors in the centre of the leave, it makes it the focal point.

I used acrylic paints and a gelatine plate to create the background - a monoprint, yes!.
The script has been added with a stencil and structure paste, and the same stencil with some brown distress inks.

In today's post I show you that you can use 2 stamps to get a lot of different types of cards/backgrounds.

Just play with your stamps and color!
