Colorations spray on glass?! YES!

I am on the Art Anthology blog again today, with a tutorial recycling some glass candle holders with Colorations inksprays, YES, on glass!!

Find out how in this post, and for a tutorial go see the Snapguide at the end of the post.

Here you can see the finished project as it looks during the day.
To begin with, I bought this as a whole on a flea market, with the glass being uncolored.

I used Colorations, deli paper, gesso and a stamp.
Doesn't this look yummy?

Some detail of the colored paper (the backside) after it had dried.

With the lights and the candles both on.

With the lights out and the candles on.

Every photo I took gave some other detail of the beautiful colors, depending on the light around it, and whether the candles or on or not.

For information on the Colorations sprays, go see the Art Anthology blog, where it's all listed with links.
I've created a Snapguide tutorial for you, with a step-by-step of the creation of these candle holders with the beautiful Colorations (inkspray) from Art Anthology.

I hope you will give this a try...
it's always nice to have some candles burning at night
during the darker period of the year, isn't it ?!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Grapes are so delicious!

This stamp with the grapes is so great!
I stamped it with a brown distress ink and started coloring it with a watercolor pencil. As soon as I added water with a waterbrush, I knew it was going to reactivate the brown distress ink, It gives a gorgeous effect. On the grrapes itself, I first added a dot of gesso on each of them, and when dry, I colored them with watercolor pencils too.
I added some white sribbling on the leaves with a white acrylic marker, to add some interest.
I stamped a script in the background with the same brown distress ink.

Draw or doodle something

I LOVE to doodle in my art journal. I doodled all along the edge, but decided to cover some of it with some gesso, to just break it.
On the left I've used a scrap of colored deli paper... the tutorial on making that will be on my blog on the 30 th... so watch this space.

A close-up of a another leftover.
I photoghraphed this piece with light at it's back; it's see-through!
Thanks Yvonne van Hoof  for reminding me of using deli paper; I've heard of it before, but never used it until now.
It's more sturdy than tissue wrap, and thinner than parchment paper. It's GREAT, and FUN!

All paints and stencils I've used are from Art Anthology, the stamps from Art Journey, of course. .

Just playing - on an art journal page

I played, yes .. and I had fun..!!
This post is also on the Art Anthology blog today!

I decided to just go with the flow... and see where that would take me. I grabbed all sorts of colors that I thought would be nice together, greens, blues, oranges and a red, velvets, sorbets and a gemstones.

****
Leaf sorbet, Honolulu Blue sorbet and Limeaid velvet: scraping a tiny bit randomly over the page to make transparant layers.  Don't try to cover the whole of it with each color, just here and there, and sometimes overlapping. After this step I've used lots more colors. For that, go see the Snapguide at the bottom of the post.

A close-up of the page during the process.

A close-up of some detail of the finished page.

Those eyes really are an eye-catcher on the page - LOVE it!

Would you like to know how I did this, check out the Snapguide:

It's fall / autumn !

This is a stencil print from leftover Nuance powder on the stencil from this post.

This is a stencil print from leftover Nuance powder on the stencil from this post.
I added 2 real leaves from a Ginko tree... to which I added some Nuance powder as well, and when still wet, heat embossed the wetness with clear embossing powder.
I also sponged the edges with a distress ink.
I added some with Nuance colored scrappers floss to finish it off.
