ATC's can hold a lot of techniques - 5

For some basics on using stencils, I tried all sorts of techniques on ATC's.
Today the fifth one.

This is how you make it:
I've used some structure paste and a stencil for the background, and sponged it with green and brown distress inks.
I stamped the sentiment with a dark ink and also heat embossed it in white.
The flower was stamped on a seperate piece of paper and cut out. I colored the structure paste with a brown watercolor pencil.

Magenta is a MORE THAN WORDS August Sponsor !

Magenta is once again sponsoring this month's wonderful
More Than Words Challenge Blog
with a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate for one lucky commenter.

Yes,
all you have to do is leave a lovely comment on their blog. This month the word inspiration is "Friends" and the creative challenge is "Circles".
There is something for everyone.

The main challenge is open to scrapbook pages, canvases and/or journal pages.
During the last week of the month, there is a mini challenge based on a word for cards, tags, and ATCs on their Facebook page. Full challenge details can be found here.

On my art journal page I symbolize friends as circles; some of them are 'bigger'  and more colorful than others, but they're all friends! These friends create happiness and they are kept in our memories for ever.

I've used the challenge's circles inspiration photo as a transfer. I changed the photo in PAINT to make it black and white, and removed some of the darker areas within the circles, and all pixels around the circles as well. I did the transfer with gel medium after I've printed the image on paper.

Sponge the background with different colors of distress inks. Position your stencil onto cardstock, and outline the image with a black marker. Take away color inside the image with bleach. Leave to dry.
Stamp a script randomly over the background.

Sponge with  different colors of distress inks.
You can choose to add some stamping, a script or so, but I chose to leave it like this.

Sunny card!

I've been playing with waterbased markers on my stamps.
I created a custom made MISTI, so I could stamp every color seperately, building it up from light to dark.
The script stamp has also been colored with a waterbased marker.
I've misted before stamping, and cleaned it off inbetween.

I've also sponged with ink from the marker.

I am sure I'll be using this technique again, it's fun!

Hope you like it!

A butterfly in the meadow..

This morning I thought of using some kraft paper - it always is a surprise how it turns out - white paper lends itself better as there is light already; as with craft the lack of white can be a problem sometimes.
I like how the butterfly and the white accents pop off the background!

PS.... I colored the background with PanPastel.
