Paper Artsy - Blue and ochre with found objects

FUN theme this time at Paper Artsy! The theme and colors spoke to me, also my newest stencil and the new stamps from Lin Brown, ELB33
I always tend to come back to nature, and had to use that element in my project too!
So five elements that got me inspired.

Theme, color, stamps, a stencil and nature!

LOOK what I came up with, just a sneak peek!!
It took me a whole day to get this together... with lots of finds of years and years from nature..
seashells, the tiniest tiny ones (thinking of sitting in hot sand with my daughter Karlien when she was still a girlie) ...
and a worn leaf...
seedheads...
also some rusted keys..
and to frame it all I used some branches from a pear tree.

GO see the post on the Paper Artsy blog for the whole project and more photographs .. and also description of the different finds.

COLORING with Nuance

Because of the different color particles in the Nuance powders, you get different shades of a color when using them to color an image.
AND.. what do you think of splattering with them?
(The background has been sponged with distress inks) .

Playing with Minx shimmering inks - no 3 !

AS PROMISED...
I am not finished playing with the MINX shimmering inks yet!

(I'm on the Art Anthology blog today)

Today I chose to play with MINX inks in combination with a custom made ink pad.
That's really so much fun.. you MUST give it a try!

Please have a look at the Snapguide at the end of this post for step-by-steps of the 2 techniques in this post. The supplies used also get mentioned there.

Technique ONE is using the inks on the pad for stamping.

Changing the above card with just a touch of 2 stencils.

Technique TWO is finishing up all that beautiful ink on your pad.

Using these backgrounds for one-of-a-kind cards.

Red, white and blue!

Joining in with a challenge... I've missed that!

I am entering this in the challenge on
1. Art Journey- red, white and blue.
I think I would not choose for red and blue on one project, but I should.. it's actually a beautiful combination.
2. Simon Says Stamp - Splash it on.

Flower collage...

Playing with the new flowery collage stamp, heat embossing (pearl) and Nuance...
that's all it takes to create this beauty.

I am entering this in the challenge on
1. Simon Says Stamp - Splash it on... it was real watery to make the pigments run.

Reminder: TIMI challenge for Craft Stamper

Have you not entered yet? The challenges from the Craft Stamper are easy and FUN!
Anything with stamping on it will qualify.

There's a prize package from Visible Image this month to be won!
Yes, YOU could be the winner of the prize!

I've used one of my gelliprints to enhance a found leaf... yes .. one from the autumn!
Add some stamping (Carabelle Studio) and you have a one of a kind card!

White flowers ..

Starting on a dark colored background from your stash can give you such a striking contrast between dark and light.
HOW TO:
Do the steps of stamping with a stamping tool. Stamp the flower image and bleach the image itself. Stamp it again and heat emboss with clear. Color the image with watered down white and green acrylic paint. Make a mask of the stamped image and cover the stamped image with it. Stamp a script and heat emboss in white.

I hope you will give this a try.

Coffee, tea or me...

That theme is so difficult, as I do not have any stamps from Impression Obsession with that theme.
No worries... I fussycut a mug... added a stamped image (Sarah), some scratches (CC066) and the word coffee to it. Voila!

I am entering this in the monthly challenge on Impression Obsession

Yellow, Ochre and terra ...

.. a very difficult combination... luckily I was allowed to use black and white too! :)

A collaged journal cover ...

The cover of an art journal, is gorgeous for messy fingers!

The ingredients:
Stamps, chipboard, gesso, stamps, structure paste, embellishments, a tag, pictures from a magazine, gold heat embossing, bookpaper, colored tissue paper and postage stamps.

The gold heat embossing on the chipbord, on the brush, and on the script is difficult to capture on the photograph.

LOVE all of the collaged elements!

I got inspired to make this by a workshop I did with Willy Duit
