Art Journey Challenge no 10 - Bookmark
This is the link to the Challenge on the Art Journey blog.
TIP:
I stamped the background with an acrylic block.
On the right hand side, the water all went to this side** when I took the acryilic-block off.. This part looks darker than it is in real life, because it is gold (the camera does not reflect the color of gold properly); so actually the second rose is all goldish.
**To prevent this clogging up of the water on one side, just leave the acrylic block on the CS a little longer, so the paper has time to soak up the water.

Butterflies and tag..... tag and butterflies...
ADDED LATER:
I WON on the Stampman blog !!
if you'd like to see what I chose, see the end of this post...
For the # 25 challenge on the Stamp Man Challenge Blog - Butterflies and Dragonflies
and for the challenge on Try It On Tuesday - Tag and Butterfly
You should see this, it's covered with beeswax - it gives such a deep color effect. I made this while at Jolande's place yesterday, she also made one, with different colors, same stamps... Thanks again Jolande, for the terrific stamping day!
How I made the tag:
First sponge the tag with various colors Distress inks, I used rusty hinge and scattered straw. The edges I accentuated with walnut stain. Then stamp the plants with StazOn black. Also stamp the bottom plant with faded jeans, to co-ordinate with the blue from the butterfly and to make it have a shadowy effect. Stamp the two butterflies on a seperate piece of cardstock and cut it out. Color it, I colored the butterflies with watercolor pencils, with co-ordinating colors I used in the background. Adhere the butterflies to the tag.
Then I heated some beeswax in the melting pot, took an old brush to cover the tag with a thin layer of the wax. On some spots I put more wax, to be able to stamp in it at a later stage. I heated the beeswax to get even coverage, to get rid of the "stripes" from the brush. Then heat the parts you put some more beeswax one by one and - while melted- stamp in it with a stamp, a flourish in this case. Let it cool down.
Then, to accentuate the stamping in the wax, just rub some pearl-ex or perfect pearls over the stucture with a finger. I used a gold and copper color.
I LOVE this technique!!
This technique I learned from Liesbeth, on the Art Specially Event.
This is the tag I made on the event, using the same technique, with fishes.

Stickers as mask
On this background I used some stickers from a local advertisement folder, as a mask.
I tore a piece off on one side of each one.
I sponged over it with distress inks.

Simion Says Stamp and Show your favourite stamp....
This sure is my favourite stamp!!!! It's from Stamping Up.
I bought it on Ebay, I think shipping was more expensive than the stamp itself! LOL
I had to have it!!
The text is from Paper Artsy, I also love this one, it's so versatile!
