12 tags of 2015 - February... no 2

... as you can see, I was inspired by the technique Tim used on his tag. A few pictures from an antique booklet, some black and white stamped images, some black and white scrapbookpaper... bookpaper (music) ... and VOILA!

I am entering this in the following challenge:
1. 12 tags of 2015 - February
2. Bumblebees and butterflies - got inspired by Tim in the use of glue and seal, and now Brenda used it here as well, LOVE your art Brenda...

I ought to use this more!

I have 'tons' of beautiful pictures... from animals to weeds, to birds etc. I also fuzzy cut most of them, to be able to use them in combination with stamping, or with art journalling, mixed media etc.
Here I used a picture of this rabbit, which is a picture from an old diary. (I think it was one from Marjolein Bastin).
I LOVE old diaries...also children's books, some of them have such lovely pictures in them!
I just bought an old book for 1 euro about the history of music on a flea market. There's some beautiful 'scrapbookpaper' in it !!

So, I need to use these more in future!

The background has been sponged into this frame with post it note paper, and distress inks.
The script has been stamped before I adhered the rabbit to the card.
Nice card for  a child as far as I am concerned.
At this moment I am not sure what brand script I used in the background, have to look that up..

I am entering this in the challenge on
1. Simon Says Stamp - I ought to use this more!

New challenge at TIOT..

Come and join us! It's fun to use your new stuff, or a new technique!

****
The stencil is new to me, from The Crafters Workshop...... the parrot...
and the texture paste I haven't used before. It was a cheap texture paste I bought last year at LIDL (which is a supermarket, hehe). It's amazing, doesn't swoop under the stencil at all!
(The color yellow should partly be more greenish tones...)

I started with adhering some music bookpaper to the page, then coloring it with watercolor crayons. Two layers of watered down gesso gives the toned down effect. The parrot is (also NEW!) from a book I bought recently on e flea market, it contains the most beautiful drawn images. As the branch was not wide enough to cover the page horizontally, I drew the rest of it on both sides on white paper, and then covered it  allover with some texture paste. The shadows on the branch has been done with a pencil.
The saying of the bird, is a Dutch saying, and it means something like 'all birds are singing their song their own way'.

Flea market find # 1 - Chest of drawers.

This project I finished a while ago, but I'd still like to show it on the blog. It was an old closet, filthy, really old. It's been a loooot of work, but sure worth it!
Even my husband is glad now, at first he didn't see any good in me doing all this work, he wanted to throw it away. I bought it for 70 euro, I think it is worth far more now, but I am not selling.  LOL.  Only the fronts of the drawers and the grips are new. .
