My Creative Monday for Magenta - Stencil Fun

I LOVE to create mixed media cards with backgrounds of bookpaper.

Basically use stencils, Nuance and structure paste
 and just let things happen.

My Creative Monday for Magenta - Tissue paper

Today four techniques with tissue paper..
they are all a tiny bit different..

- Stamp the image in black onto tissue paper and heat emboss with clear.
- Paint the back of the image with white acrylics.
- Tear or fussycut the image.
- Use a coloured background as base; stamp some script onto it.
- Adhere the tissue paper to the background with decoupage glue.

Fishy booklets for 52 books...

On the Rubber Dance blog two weeks ago:
two recycled booklets I will use as mini art journals.

For my 52books series this is book number 31; a very interesting type of binding: a cover over a spiral binding.

I dissembled the books first, and got rid of both the original end papers inside as that was torn by doing so...

... leaving me with the cover plus spine intact..

.. I covered the outside by adhering half of an A4 gelliprint with muted pink and greenish colors (using a Magenta stencil in case you wonder)...  ....

... I brushed some matte medium to the surface to give it some protection...

.. stamped onto it with StaZon blazing red ink..

.. gave it some extra color with green distress ink..

.. added some white with an acrylic marker...

.. and reassembled the booklets using the second and second last page of the book to use as the new end papers on the inside...

DONE...
Hope you like it and give recycling a book a try.. it´s fun..

Book 30 for series52

This is book 30 in my book series.

Guess what I've used to make this book?

This was a wallet... one from leather... one I've used a lot when we still had cheque books in our wallet...

At that time I was still working for Barclays International Bank in Johannesburg as a computer programmer in mainly Cobol, some 30 + years ago..

I might add an elastic band still to carry a pen..

I lined it with a floral piece of cotton..
