Book 22

This time an accordion folded pocket book from 2 (identical sheets) of scrapbookpaper.  

It measures 12,8 x 17,5 centimeters.

 I added 2 covers that were slightly larger than the book, and coverd it with scrapbookpaper too. 

The tags are going to be filled with passport photo's of granddchildren of a dear friend. I will add them but didn't want to share them in this post for privacy reasons.

A collaged journal cover ...

The cover of an art journal, is gorgeous for messy fingers!

The ingredients:
Stamps, chipboard, gesso, stamps, structure paste, embellishments, a tag, pictures from a magazine, gold heat embossing, bookpaper, colored tissue paper and postage stamps.

The gold heat embossing on the chipbord, on the brush, and on the script is difficult to capture on the photograph.

LOVE all of the collaged elements!

I got inspired to make this by a workshop I did with Willy Duit

I also colored the dragonfly chipboard (covered with granular gel from Golden) with same green Nuance.

Sketch challenge Magenta for March

 This is the layout I created for the challenge on the Magenta blog, see details below!

I started off with the beautiful scrapbookpaper from Magenta. I cut the frame and turned the backside of it, to the front, so you actually see both sides of the doublesided paper 


The dragonflies are chipboard pieces. They were stamped over with the irish blessing after painting it with acrylic paint.

The lines at the bottom were created with custom-made masking tape, I stamped the Irish blessing on it. 

I chose to keep the colors very light to coordinate with the backgroundpaper.

 Here I just played with gesso, and color, and of course with these beautiful stamps! I LOVE that with an Art Journal, it doesn't have to become something, you can just play, no right or wrong!

LAYOUT with chipboard frame - Decorations/embellishments challenge

I really had some bad luck with this layout. I made a step-by-step from the beginning, to show the different techniques I did for the different parts, from sponging to heat embossing. The photographs disappeared between the SD-card and the computer... You'll have to do it with the completed project.  

The scrapbookpaper: I chose to keep it mostly as the original, it has such beautiful colors. And I really like that stencil, I am going to use that a lot, that's for sure! 

 

Do you see the bling on the (white embossed) chipboard and that tiny little pimped clothing pin? . 

 

Don't you just LOVE the button? It was a white BIG button before I pimped it with scrappers floss and some paper identical to the background.  That baby is my eldest son (Anton). Luckily he doesn't look on my blog too often! LOL

 

 I stamped through the stencil, to get this partly-stamped effect.
