My Creative Monday for Magenta - heat emboss resist 1

I've made an ATC to test the technique..
1. Cover 2 pieces of cardstock with gesso. Leave to dry.
2. Sponge one of the pieces of cardstock with distress ink. Dry thoroughly!
3. Stamp an image with Versamark and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
4. Tape the second piece of cardstock to the first so it folds the inked and gessoed sides to the inside.
5. Mist the inked one with water.
6. Close the two pieces of cardstock and put it stacked through an embossing machine, like a Big Shot.
7. Now you've got 2 backgrounds with color, the first one has the sponged color trapped under the heat embossing.
8. Mask the image and heat emboss a script in white to finish it off.

Now for the technique used on a background for a card.

Next week Monday I will share a very similar technique!!

My Creative Monday for Magenta - bubble, bubble ..

3 cards and an ATC from one A4 gelli monoprint ..

I've used the lollipop stencil on the monoprints
.. I thought they were shells, really!

Fish.. fish..

and even more fish...

... and a dragonfly on the ATC.

I LOVE the distressed look on the monoprints; edges and white space:
.. white spaces are interesting to use in collages like this!!

This was the A4 sized monoprint I used!

Hope you liked it!!

My Creative Monday for Magenta - some bling

Some bling this time:
on the flower hearts (from real glass)
and distress stickles on the berries.

On al the cards I stamped the flower bacground stamp and heat embossed it with white heat-embossing.

I've used various Nuance colors to color the embossed images.
In some areas I added a hint of extra color with a watercolor pencil and/or marker.

My Creative Monday for Magenta - a technique

Using a less quality of  paper has its advantages.

This is the technique I've used on the ATC above and the card further down :
Sponge a very colorful background with distress inks as shown.
Dry it very properly.
Heat emboss a stamped image with open space with white embossing powder.
Add some water to the insides of the image with a brush, and the color will soak into the paper.
Easy isn't it?

On the card above I additionaly splattered some water on the background to add interest.
To get the collage of the stamped images, I had to mask the front flower, of course.
