Book 20 - for series 52

week 20 : book 20
I know, I am behind but I don't mind if it takes a little longer to create 52 books.

This time a mixed media cover to an existing book,
a Bible that is very dear to someone I know.

I sew the (loose) signatures and binded it so it looks new and can be used again!
I made the cover for it from sturdy cardboard, and with the elastic band as shown.

Some gold foiling in the wet paint and on the heat embossing.

LOVE the crackle and the colors.

I am entering this in the challenge on
1. series 52 - just a play with creating a book every week; a challenge I set to myself.

Art Journal page with theme - Experimental

The experiment on this page is: YES, using a product that's been in my stash for a while.... FAB FOIL!

IT'S MAGIC!! No reason for not using it.... you must give it a try!

Look at the shimmer!

Some notes on how I did this:

Backgroound is done with scribbling of Caran d' Arche Neocolor II  crayons, and then painting it with gesso.
The toadstools (Stampotique) and the ants (own design) and the insects were heat embossed with black.

The script (Stampers Anonymus) part: Bonding powder also gets done with versamark and the heat tool: after heating it with your heat gun, just as with embossing powder.... let it cool. Now this is different from embossing powder ; put the foil over the bonding powder, rub over it with a finger nail, and where the bonding powder is, the foil will stick,
MAGIC!

EASY!

SO, I will be using this product much more in future!!

This Art Journal page is for Journal52 week 40 - Experimental!
