Step-by-step of altering a tin can!

 

I have this fun project today. A step-by-step of the altering process. I am going to use for stamps I'm collecting. They're always lying around everywhere!

This is the giant tin can before altering. It contained some king size hotdogs LOL

.

Paint it with gesso, also the inside. Leave to dry.

Stamp the background stamp with a solvent ink onto tissue paper.Tear it into pieces.

Adhere the tissue paper with gelmediumto the tin can. Leave to dry!

Paint it with some watered-down creme acrylic paint. Leave to dry.

Color it with bundled sage distress ink, applying it straight from the pad. I added some scattered straw as well, just a hint.  I added some clear embossing powder to the tin, it sticks to the distress ink.

 Heat emboss it.

 

Stamp the background stamp with a solvent ink onto Shrinky Dink clear.  Diecut the flower.

Stamp small parts of the background stamp on a tag (this tag is a monoprint I've made a few weeks ago).

Adhere the flower to the tag. Attach the tag to the tin can.

Yes, this is a monoprint with some heat embossing and stamping on it. The print has been one with the big swirl stencil from Stampers Anonymus.

 I decided to keep it simple as I did not want to cover up the background too much!
