An easy collage card from me today.
Background was created by applying textured shiny paste through a stencil from Art Anthology.

12 tags of 2015 - May

Just in time for the May tag from Tim Holtz!
I didn't think I would enjoy this month's tag, but actually I did,
This really isn't a copy of Tim's tag, but I like the softness of the colors here, and chose to not add more text, and embellishments.

I am entering this in the challenge on
1. Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
2. Mixed media world - vintage

I used one of the new TCW stencils to add the structure paste: a nice textural and very versatile stencil.

Time to let go...

White heat embossing on a rather colorful background can be a little dramatic,
but I like it; suits the nice sunny weather we have at the moment.
The clocks reminds me of 'time', there is a time to hold and a time to let go:  Our daughter got married this week :)....
I distressed the edges with sanding paper, then added some gesso and scribbling to accentuate it.

It's a special time...

The tag was a tag attached to a new pair of jeans. Recycling it's called LOL.

I sanded the edges after adding gesso randomly with a creditcard.
I sprayed with blue custom-made pearl spray, stamped the image twice with brown memeto ink, and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. The fern on the card itself has been stamped with a stamp-positioner to get it stamped in the exact right place. The script in the background has been stamped with the same ink as the ferns, just not heat-embossed.

I am entering this in the challenge on
1. Hero Arts - sketch - I used #2

Two other ways to travel…

Apart from travelling by train and by car, there were two other ways to
travel in the olden days: by plane and by bicycle.

(It's just a pity that the terra-brown shows up as orange…)

Challenge Fashionable Stamping challenges - new stash...

A new year - a new challenge at Fashionable Stamping challenges.

We have an easy peasy challenge to start off the New Year – it’s  … Anything goes with your new stash.

Just be sure to add some stamping on your creation!

I bought this set from Crafty Individuals a few weeks ago, so I decided to use it for this challenge.
This was a real challenge for me, because I do like to use colors.

I made this tag on a Make and Take at ART JOURNEY, with Liesbeth.

- I am also entering this in the challenge on The Artistic Stamper, which is vintage
- and the Simon Says Stamp and Show - something old, something new (the theme is old 'vintage', and the stamps are new LOL).
- and on Papersundaes which is something old, something new!

Katzelkraft's got beautiful postal stamps..

I LOVE this travel set from Katzelkraft...
I'm going to be using these stamps a lot, especially the text ones...
I LOVE texts.....
and the postage ones are also gorgeous!

(It looks a bit yellowish here, in real life it's more greenish!)

Apart from this being my DT post for Katzelkraft (also on the Katzelkraft blog today!), I am entering this card in the Stampman challenges also, with theme a technique you've not used before.
I used a technique I wanted to try for some time now, and I am sure I will be using it a lot in future. It's FUN! It's about using plastic foil over wet inks to get a very unique background. On this background it shows more with the blues than with the green. It might be because I did not use a glossy cardstock, too absorbant maybe...

and... I am also entering it as DT piece in the Fashionable Stamping Challenges, for the new challenge which will be posted tomorrow, the theme is..... no, I am not going to tell you... it's a secret until tomorrow. Come join us!

HOW TO:
Spray the background with two colors (home-made) pearl spays, and immediataly cover it with plastic foil. Leave it to air dry; this is the hard part LOL
Stamp the eiffel tower with a solvent ink. Stamp the text with Versamark and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Stamp the other stamps, also with a dark brwn solvent ink.
Distress the edges with a paper distresser, and sponge it with a dark brown dye ink.
Tear the edge in some places and accentuate it with a darkbrown marker.
(As you can see here, I used the stamp with the postage stamp and address in two stages, by inking it twice, leaving the top or bottom part without ink.)

Go stamp - ENJOY!
