A blessed christmas to you ! / Gezegende Kerstdagen !

"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord"
(Luke 2 vs 11)
****

"U is heden de Heiland geboren,

namelijk Christus, de Here, in de stad

van David"

(Lukas 2 vers 11)

Toen de Heiland werd geboren,

was er weinig plaats voor Hem,

Alles vol, geen deur ging open,
't werd een stal in Bethlehem.
Onze handen, onze harten,
zijn ook boordevol, o Heer,
Leer ons toch steeds U verwachten,
plaats te maken, altijd weer.

"Eer zij God", en "Vreed" op aarde'
klonk het boven Efrata.
'In de mensen welbehagen'
God schenkt liefde en gena.
Ook wij mogen Jezus eren
in ons lied aan Hem gewijd
en eens samen met de eng'len
zingen tot in eeuwigheid.

Panpastel en embossing

A tutorial for you: PanPastel and embossingfolders!

****

Emboss you cardstock with the embossing folder. Dab with versamark ink over the embossed image. It will make the PanPastel stick better to the paper, and make it more intense!

Start coloring with the lightest color, for me it's Brighr Yellow Green 680.5
Don't color the leaves all over; leave some white!
Color with a darker color, just touches. I used  Permanent green; 640.5, Again, don't color leaves all over; leave some white!
Now to the darkest green Chromium Oxide green shade 660.3, to create depth. More depth has been created because I left lighter parts on the leaves.
The berries have been colored with 380.5.
and the edges of the cardwith the lightest green, 680.5

Fixate when you've finished coloring.
Of course this technique could also be used to create gorgeous backgrounds with a background embossing folder!

Another idea: a box full of techniques.... .

I created a box from cardboard to hold ATC-sized cards.
At the moment this box contains over 200 technique cards.
On the backside of each technique card, I wrote a short how-to of the technique.
The technique card that I added for today's technique is this one.
On the back there is also a number, in this case nr 203. On my PC I've got a folder with pictures of all the techniques, sorted by number. Easy to find now!
Maybe you also find this idea handy, to never forget all the techniques you discover while playing.

From now on I will post the technnique card I put in my technique box for PanPastel, under the blogpost.

Challenge at Indigoblu

I HAD to join in the challenge of Indigoblu, as I just LOVE this stamp so much.
The theme is poppies...

I've made a second card for this challenge!
...  on that card I started with white heat embossing; same stamp, same colors
... it turned out totally different!

Holiday cards...

I used some corrugated board to create these cards. To be able to stamp on it I gave it a few coatings of gesso. The main images were stamped with black Archival ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder. It makes them pop!

****

On this card I added some torn pieces of music paper, and painted it with watered down gesso...

The images were colored with distress markers.

Kraft paper and stamping...

Working on kraft paper has one disadvantage as far as I am concerned: It's not white.

So, to get white, you paint it white where you want it to be white! First heat emboss the image with white embossing. Then paint it with some water-diluted gesso. Then color it! I used pearlescent watercolors Then add touches of color with watercolorpencil and a permanent marker to add some depth. I am not too happy with the clouds... but it will have to do, LOL.

****

Another try, here I did not color the kraft paper. in the background.. just experimenting here...

 ****

And the 3rd experiment on kraft paper:
There were wise men going to Bethlehem... they were looking for the newborn Christ!

****
I think I will keep playing with kraft paper, to improve the results...

All stamps are from Katzelkraft!
