Art Journalen / Art Journaling day 11 "Carte Postale"

For me art journaling is playing with product without any rules.

I started in a new journal and hope to fill it with a lot of pleasure, no time limit, no pressure.

It's called "Carte Postale".

I shared this in my Dutch Art Journal group on Facebook as a challenge; the prompts down in the post are in dutch: if you need to know what they mean just translate the page with the gadget in the sidebar.



Journal pagina vandaag; dit kwam voort uit een meerdagenchallenge op mijn Dutch Art Journal Facebook groep, 6 dagen met opdrachten. 

dag 1 :
Creëer een moodboard: zie fotoreeks van 4. 

dag 1 stap 1: mooi plaatje waarvan de kleuren de moodboard gaan vormen.

dag 1 stap 2: de moodboard: stukjes papier waarvan de kleuren overeenkomen met het gekozen plaatje. Plak het papier op een plek in een dummy boek over 2 pagina's.
Dit is dussss niet de te vormen journal pagina. Je kunt de moodboard ook later weer gebruiken voor andere projecten.
Heb je meerdere reststukken van een achtergrond, leg dat tussen 2 opvolgende pagina's van het boek; dit kun je ook gaan gebruiken in de volgende stappen.
Het is belangrijk ook de aardkleuren en zwart/wit toe te voegen.

dag 1 stap 3: scheur (kleinerige) stukjes om te gebruiken op je journal pagina.

dag 1 stap 4: plak de stukjes op je pagina.

dag 2 
Breng met een paletmes gesso/acrylverf aan om het meer één geheel te maken.

Dag 3a
Spons kleur op je pagina: gebruik de kleuren van je eigen moodboard uiteraard.

Dag 3b

Spray het heel licht met wat water, tot je het gewenste effect hebt.

Laat aan de lucht drogen.

Dag 4
Breng structuurpasta oid aan door een stencil of mask.

Heb je dit niet? Een goed alternatief is (een rest van) een diecut, als het maar in de achtergrond blijft.

Het gaat erom dat je wat wit terugbrengt in de achtergrond. Ik vond namelijk dat ik de gesso in stap 2 niet transparant genoeg had, en de gesponsde inkten hebben het wit weggehaald, en op die manier was er te weinig overgebleven van de kleur uit de prompt van dag 1 en te weinig wit.

Dag 5
Zoek er een focal point plaatje bij uit je voorraad dat past bij de kleuren van je pagina.

Zoals jullie kunnen zien heb ik er een nieuwe kleur bij gedaan. Waarom? De achtergrond is wat viezig geworden, groen is verdwenen in het proces, EN het geheel mist iets.
Eerst had ik gele plaatjes gezocht; die verdwenen op de achtergrond, paars gaf ook geen kick, en toen kwam ik op oranje af.

Ja!

Dag 6

Achtergrond afwerken is de opdracht voor vandaag.

Ik deed het met mark-making : cirkels in wit en zwart, en ook witte spletters; en stempelwerk in zwart.

Ik bracht ook wat meer oranje in de achtergrond aan, en heb een kleiner bloemetje geplakt.

Nu is het dus tijd de focal point te plakken op de gewenste plek.

Voor wie het wil weten:
Gebruikte stencil is van Magenta, post stempels van Katzelkraft, script in de achtergrond van EllieKnolDesigns bij Magenta, bloem een aquarel (een uitprobeersel op vrij slecht papier).

It's called "Art of nature" 

Nature in itself has a lot of color, structure, scents and our senses can pick that up. The beauty of it will never seize to make me full of joy as to what our Creator made for us to enjoy and treasure. 

Art Journalen / Art Journaling day 9 "UITZICHT"

  For me art journaling is playing with product without any rules. 

I started in a new journal and hope to fill it with a lot of pleasure, no time limit, no pressure. 
Using up some of my collage fodder in the process is a plus +

It's called "UITZICHT" dutch for prospect, meaning for me as in view of the future; basis of this being the eternal life in Jesus Christ.  

The background is playful with a lot of layering of colors and textures, scraping in wet structure paste etc.
 The flowers are fussy cut watercolors I did a while ago (I have a whole fodder book full of them, in every color of the rainbow...  )

Art Journalen / Art Journaling day 8 "Natuur"

It's called "Natuur" dutch for Nature.... 

This page depicts my love for nature, created by our Father in Heaven so beautifully. The pictures are from a book I purchased from a thrift store called Flowering Plants Of the World by V.H. Heywood. 
I bought a second book one of this book (this time a dutch version) also from a thrift store, and chose the lesser one for ripping pages out, which turned out to be the english version. When I had only one copy, I could just not start on ripping pages out, lol. 

It has a ton of beautiful illustrations!! Grab a copy if you can find one, if you collage fodder to be used in creating. I paid 8 euro for the english version, and only 1 euro for the dutch one. There are several copies online varying from around 10 euro to prices I would never pay for second-hand book.  

Coring the background has been done with Twinkling H2o watercolors.

It started out as a collage of elements just to define the colors...
