The Original Documented Life Project - week 6

Guest designing at Designs by Ryn is FUN! 

Today the first project: 4 to come!

I did a page for DLP week 5 with Designs by Ryn products as well...

Today I have this journal page for you, from beginning to end.. using the Original Documented life project inspiration, the Febraury theme being: Layers You Will Love!

and the art challenge for the 6th week:  When Not To Stop

Layers - When NOT to stop, let's begin!

Enjoy the process!

 Start by adhering music paper to your page. Tear the edges to make it fit, leave out some space on the edges.. add torn pieces to fill it up. Add a thin layer of the decoupage glue to act as a resist, leave to dry. 

Apply structure paste to the page with the gorgeous Maidenhair stencil from Designs by Ryn. 

Leave to dry. 

Spray custom made sprayinks over it.  Oops, I lost the light in the ferns...

From here you will see:  if you just play  .. the next steps just happen.. 

... scratch the top layer off the structure paste to reveil the white .. still not happy? !

... add darker lines around the maidenhair's leaves to get it back in balance.
Also add some light color to the leaves. 

..add some journaling to the page, 

(I even wrote ... Grrrrr...  somewhere, also about the layering...and enjoy playing .. )   .. still not happy ....

... add some lighter black stamped and some darker black stamped images around the fern ...  highlight the edges of these stamped edges with a white acrylic marker. I used the Honey Locust Leaf stamp here. never thought I would use it this way, LOVE the effect!

 I am happy now   !!

Voorjaarsbloemen...

De nieuwe challenge bij Pan Pastel BNL, dat al weer 4 dagen oud is. 

Ik heb de 2 woorden uit elkaar gehaald, voorjaar en bloemen. 

Het voorjaar kenmerkt zich altijd met zulke mooie groene tinten. En bloemen horen natuurlijk helemaal bij het voorjaar, maar deze bloemen laten zich pas zien in Augustus, dus geen voorjaarsbloemen, en zijn nooit groen.... Artistieke vrijheid?  

Springflowers..the new theme at Pan Pastel BNL. 

I chose to cut the 2 words into spring and flowers... spring always comes with beautiful shades of fresh green, and flowers always come with it too. These flowers never show up in spring, but only in August, so no spring flowers, and never green... 

Artistic freedom?

 I knew I was going to use this beautiful image, with a hint of green for your challenge, and when I saw the theme at PP BNL, I knew I had to... . 

Just a pity I had to wait so long to show it to you as I could only show this on my blog today..  (my DT day)

 When I wrote this post, still no spring here in Holland, but with these scarves and a winelabel from France (thanks Jacqueline), things will improve I think (hope) !

PRODUCTS USED: 

Een aanloopje had ik nodig.......

... maar nu ben ik toch echt begonnen als design team lid van Inkerbell stamps!!

Eerste van een hele reeks...  ik had echt even een aanloopje nodig. 

Ik moet eerlijk bekennen dat ik een TIC heb, niets ernstigs overigens. 

Ik zal het eerlijk bekennen.... wanneer ik nieuw (DT) product binnenkrijg, maakt niet uit wat het is, verwerk ik het eerst in mijn hobby-ruimte systeem. DUS, voordat ik het gebruik!!

Voorbeeld 

... er komt een UM stempellap binnen, zeg maar met een mix aan stempels van bloem, blad en tekst. Allereerst wordt het op EZ gezet. Dan wordt er een SET blad gestempeld, voor ik het rubber uitknip, met een set nummer (ben nu bij set 208 geloof ik!). Op dit blad noteer ik prijs, datum en plaats van aankoop, merk van set. 

Vervolgens knip ik het uit, en wordt het per thema op bladen gestempeld. Deze bladzijden heb ik in een map heb staan (o, nee het zijn er inmiddels 3)... op vellen van 16,5 x 21 cm. Ik noteer bij dit afdrukje het nummer van de set. Dan wordt dit setje als set in mijn stempelverzameling opgenomen; opgeruimd in CD- of DVD-hoes (hout in vlakke lades), sticker wordt uitgeprint en op de rug vastgeplakt. 

Klaar voor gebruik! 

Het voordeel van dit systeem hoef ik jullie niet te vertellen, toch? ... nadeel is dat ik mezelf hiermee wel in een houdgreep heb, HIHI. 

EN dit is de echte reden dat ik een flinke aanloop nodig had : .. een heel aantal prachtige Inkerbell UM sheets viel hier in een doos op de mat...

 Soms is eenvoud ZO mooi!

.... maar een streepje kleur is ook mooi! 

Ik heb de stempel ook nog eens afgedrukt op een strook gescheurd papier, het gesponst en gesprayed... er dadelijk met een lijmkam in 'gekrast ' en zo het nog natte (pearlspray vooral) over het papier getrokken. 

Eenvoud is soms mooi... een doosje vol van dit soort kaarten zou een heel mooi cadeau zijn, in een mooi gepimpt doosje

... met een afdruk van die mooie verticale teksten: 

IK DENK AAN JOU... 

of  GEFELICITEERD... 

of...  HOERA... GENIET ERVAN... VEEL GELUK... EEN KNUFFEL... HOERA ... STERKTE... WELKOM...

of ...  IK DENK AAN JOU... of ... of  

De BETERSCHAP stempel is zo mooi en zo eenvoudig, en vooral bruikbaar ook, want wie kent niet iemand die een kaart nodig heeft met deze tekst? 

En een voordeel is ook nog eens dat het verticaal is... heel goed in te zetten op kaarten die de langste kant verticaal hebben, dat zijn namelijk de meeste kaarten! 

Beterschap stempel is van de sheet : Verticale teksten - er staan er nog veeeeel meer op!

Birds and summer...

... it's time for them both, because that will mean spring is on its way!

The background was first primed with gesso, and then scratched into with the wood of a waterbrush. It gives the beautiful structure on the bird when I stamped on it (a happy accident, yes!)

So ... keep playing, and accidents happen anyway, so make sure they're happy ones!

An easy one this time - for me anyway -
