PDCC colors

 

 

I was doing a little test - using the same stamps, but stamping with the two colors vice versa !

I like both, but have a slight preference for the second one (in real life it's got more depth!).

LAYOUT with chipboard frame - Decorations/embellishments challenge

I really had some bad luck with this layout. I made a step-by-step from the beginning, to show the different techniques I did for the different parts, from sponging to heat embossing. The photographs disappeared between the SD-card and the computer... You'll have to do it with the completed project.  

The scrapbookpaper: I chose to keep it mostly as the original, it has such beautiful colors. And I really like that stencil, I am going to use that a lot, that's for sure! 

 

Do you see the bling on the (white embossed) chipboard and that tiny little pimped clothing pin? . 

 

Don't you just LOVE the button? It was a white BIG button before I pimped it with scrappers floss and some paper identical to the background.  That baby is my eldest son (Anton). Luckily he doesn't look on my blog too often! LOL

 

 I stamped through the stencil, to get this partly-stamped effect.

I played with inks and colors - again, my fingers are all blueish and

green....
The printed text is the dutch version of  "shine as lights in the world" (Philippians 2 verse 5).
The dutch Bible says- translated - "Shine as stars in the sky". 

The music strip is masking tape from Kadocato...

I decided to add a description of how I've made this for all my followers who keep asking to add some description.  A note on this, I'd rather use the time I have, to create, rather than write blog posts, but I am so grateful for all the comments I get, and for you following me, so THANKS!

On a yahoo group we have to show our favorite resist technique - I think

it must be the acrylic-paint-resist-in-combination-with-heat-embossing technique! It's been used on this card to create the background! The background started off being a very colorful (BRIGHT) crapbookpaper! The text was heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then painted over with water-diluted white acrylic paint. When dry I ironed the embossing off. The picture is from an old diary. I thought it matched the background so beautifully, so I decided to use this picture instead of making a stamped picture, which would most certainly disappear on the background.

Paste Paper - at last I tried making it!

I've seen so many beautiful results from making paste paper - I had to 

give it a try...

I still need a lot of practice, but I am sure going to give it another

try in future, maybe with another (better) recipe!

On the photos: you see aprox 4 to 5 sheets laid partly on top of each other!

Wooden booklet to be used as photo album - the front !

 

 

HOW TO: I used tissue paper (with stamped text) and a real crochetted doily to create the background. Cover it with watered-down gesso, spray it with glimmer mists. Finish as shown.

I am going to use this booklet as a photo album (for all my daughter's passport photo's  - from day 1 of school, to the last... think I need more than 12 pages..)
