My Creative Monday for Magenta - a watercolor with a stamp!

Do you know what the advantage is of stamping with a non-permanent ink?
You can use it for a design like this!
Stamp it and wet the edges of the petals very randomly to give the petals some color.
I used Memento Elderberry on a very rough and good quality watercolor paper.
While wet, I chose to drop in some extra color with a blue Ecoline watercolor ink with a watercolor brush. Let the water do the spreading of the color...
Try not to overdo this step, to make it look like a watercolor!

I think this is a marvellous technique:  I was surprised!

I am entering this in the challenge of The Flower challenge - anything goes

  3. I love how the colors loosely combine on the flowers and that textured background is fabulous, Ellie. Thanks for sharing your card with us at The Flower Challenge.

  4. I saw this in the Gallery and had to come and leave you a comment. This is so eye-catching and love the colours you used. I've never heard of stamping with an ink like Memento and then dropping water (with ink in it) beside it. I would have thought it would make the stamped image all funny, as I've tried adding water to some inks and what a disaster!! This looks so cool and the image you used works with it perfectly. Thank you so much for sharing this technique (will have to try it) and for joining us at The Flower Challenge!!
