My Creative Monday for Magenta - sanded magazine paper

An easy but fun technique from me today:
- Find a colorful background from a magazine.
- Adhere it to a stencil temporarily, the stencil underneath the magazine paper, the colorful side up.
- Sand over the paper very gently.
- Use this paper as a background.
- Stamp the butterfly three times in a dark brown; no need to mask off while stamping three of them.
- Stamp it onto white cardstock too, fussycut it and adhere over one of the butterflies.

My Creative Monday for Magenta - playing with stamps and watercolors

Ever thought of stamping with a light color and use that to watercolor the image to watercolor it?
.. that's what I did here.
I stamped the yellow flower, a daisy with a light brown stamping ink, and used watercolors to paint it. I also added some darker accents with a brown marker.
I added the flower, which I fussy-cut, to a page in my art journal.
The page was made with parts of a paper-napkin. I also added some blue one-stroke watercolor flowers for a nice contrast..

My Creative Monday for Magenta - white glue technique

I have a simple technique for you today, one you can use with any bold stamp:
Dab white glue, like a wood glue, onto a bold stamp and stamp onto cardstock. Don't press too hard, or you will smooch the glue everywhere.
Leave to dry.
Sponge the background with distress inks; the glue will  take more of the color than the surface around it.
Finish it off as shown. I stamped a script with yellow distress ink in the background, and added a white border around the image with a white acrylic marker.

My Creative Monday for Magenta - On a Roll PLAY

Use a roll of paper for art!!

...stamp in black..

...apply a (thin) layer of white acrylic paint or gesso..

.. sponge colors and splatter with water...

.. the water will change the flow of color...

.. when nearly dry, sponge again to take away the stark white, and enhance the edges of the drops...

... stamp your heart out...

with some script and flowers...

.. and as a final maybe add a title on a piece of transparent tape: PLAY...

...as I chose to just play, I was not going for a perfect piece of art, at one stage I applied a shadow ink to the flower stamp ... but o well.. it's ME- art.

I hope you got some inspiration; art on a roll maybe.
I still have to figure out how I will use this roll, to make sure I don't mess up previous art the next day, or mess the white of a next day.
We'll see.

My Creative Monday for Magenta - doodling with stencils

Doodling with only a stencil: sponging with distress inks will define the edges.
It makes it easier to doodle within the images.
Doodle some extra elements and create your very own composition.

After doodling, give some of the areas extra color.
