The Original Documented Life Project - week 17

Happy to use photographs with stencils!

ANOTHER art journal page of 18 x 25 centimeters.
I added some art journaling after taking these photographs of the page.
I chose to use one of my many photographs to go with this beautiful stencil!

A step by step photo tutorial:

Adhere some strips of tissue wrap to the page.
Paint it with some watered down gesso.
Leave to dry very properly, before advancing to the next step!

Sponge with green distress ink over the stencil, and heat emboss with clear embossing.
Sprinkle some red brusho powder onto the page, and mist with water.
LOVE the magic!

Leave to dry.

Sponge 3 different flowers from the same stencil, at the back of a separate piece of cardstock..
and fussy cut it... an easy way to create your own embellishments!
Cover the front side of the flowers with a thick layer of gesso,
and dry with a heat gun, for the gesso to create bubbles.
That adds some texture to the flowers.

Assemble it all to your page.

I chose to keep the amount of  embellishments to a minimum, to have the beautiful background to jump.

Here you can see the bubbles in the gesso.
Love that tiny bit of texture.

I only realize now that I haven't used any stamps on this page, LOL.

I am doing the Original Documented life project, week 17 was about exploring INKS!

Inspiration for the challenge at Craft Stamper ! Texture

O,
how lovely to be featuring the new TIMI challenge for June again:
 'Take A Technique' : Texture!

This could mean using texture paste or embossing paste on your project, or using a technique such as embossing (either embossing powder or embossing folders). Textured card , papers or stitching could be used. Basically, anything that gives your project a ‘touchy- feely’ style!. There of course needs to be some stamping on the project as well as the texture!

COME JOIN IN THE FUN!

I have a confession to make: I don't really like the colors on here, but do like how it turned out in the end.
I chose to use white heat embossing as the structure this time around! Plus the punch holes on the sentiment.

The sentiment says 'IK DENK AAN JOU', which means 'I think of you'.

The Original Documented Life Project - week 16

I began this (art journal page of 18x25 centimeters) with a gelli print as a base, made with the webbing stencil using green and red acrylic paints.

Then I heat embossed two flowers from the Daily buzz stencil with white embossing powder.
To make them stand out more- contrast-  I also sponged some of the flowers in red distress ink.

To make these pop, I added some white heat embossing with the Believe script stencil.
With the same stencil I added sponged script in the background with green and red distress inks.

The word 'imagine' from the Word Association stencil has been sponged with a green distress ink, and heat embossed with clear. .

To make the red flowers even pop more, I accentuated them with a white acrylic marker...

Imagine having no stamps, just stencils?
No worries, still a lot of fun...
messy fun!
